What is History on the Web?

History on the web is a publishing platform for historians, students and writers.  It offers the author the opportunity to publish their articles to earn an online bonus via online advertising and royalties from selling their papers.  Users of the site have access to free articles and have the opportunity to purchase articles and essays.

How much can an author earn?

An author can earn in two ways:

  1. Each article will gain a bonus, dependent upon the traffic generated by the article.  Therefore the more traffic driven to the article the bigger the bonus. 
  2. Selling articles and essays via the site.  Each author will receive 50% of the purchased articles and essays.

When do I get paid?

Authors get paid at the end of each month if their earnings have reached £30.

How do I get paid?

Authors are paid via Paypal.

Where do I see my revenue?

You can access your revenue on the authors homepage when you login.  

How long does it take for my 'free' articles to appear on the site?

It can take up to 10 working days to get your work published.  Articles can be rejected for a number of reasons.

  1. Incorrect referencing.  (On History on the Web we require all our works to be referenced.)
  2. If it breaks our copyright rules.
  3. If there are spelling and grammar issues.

Copyright?

As authors you retain full copyright, enabling you to remove your work or publish elsewhere.  

Codes?

Once registered you are able to log into the article submission interface.  You will be prompted to enter your article into a category and section, please choose according to below.

section:

  • Free Content: code for free articles/essays which receive a bonus.
  • Publication Submission: code for articles/essays which receive a royalty payment.

Historians directory?

We offer a free directory for all historians or historical writers.  This directory enables you to be contact directly from potential clients.
